after a long and pleasant amount of silence, i heard the girl's door open and turned around to see jade prance forth, dolled up in radiant fashion. plodding behind her came eliza, proudly donning her wand and toole skirt, happy to be in tow of her big sister and with a bustle to rival any disney princess.
they took their parade once around the living room and headed back to the bedroom where daddy had royally dressed them.
it is now evening. a fire burns in the fireplace while daddy sing/whispers a song to jade as she snuggles next to him under a blanket on the floor. she is still and her eyelids are drooping. it's peaceful and the warmth of the crackling fire reaches past the warmth of my body and burns happiness into my heart.
