you might be a red neck...

...if you get rid of mice in your house using a .22.

it's true ladies and gentlemen. aaron shot a mouse inside the house using a .22.
skinned it and ate it too. ha ha, just kidding - about the skinning and eating that is.

rebuttal

we paid our dues,
we've walked in your shoes.
old Binkies are found, every once in a while,
and we remember the old times, with a grimaced smile...

the new-comer

as Lillie's binky is laid to rest,
ours has become a welcome guest.
we have of recent come to find
the sleepless nights are not that kind.

so in a flash of desperation
we ventured by moon to the Walmart-nation.
and therein we did buy her
this blessed and belov'd pacifier.

oh the anxiety that did appease
as she took the binky with graceful ease.
the cherub didn't let out another peep
and we got a full three hours sleep!

so hear ye, hear ye mothers out there,
who think another night they cannot fare,
don't be hopeless of your situation dire,
go and get the pacifier.

trek

most of the stories you hear about trek are uplifting and spiritual. i just have to share what trek brought out of my dad...there he is front and center; a bandana over his face and holding a rifle. never thought i'd see the day.
love ya dad.

a chuckle for your day...

if men were equally at risk from this condition - if they knew their bellies might swell as if they were suffering from end-stage cirrhosis, that they would have to go nearly a year without a stiff drink, a cigarette, or even an aspirin, that they would be subject to fainting spells and unable to fight their way onto commuter trains - then i am sure that pregnancy would be classified as a sexually transmitted disease and abortions would be no more controversial than emergency appendectomies. ~barbara ehrenreich

desperation

i'm at school. i've been practicing since 7:30 this morning. i work at 2:30...playing more piano.

all my study materials are at home. so, I came to check my email for the hour and a half break. i found this picture in an email forward.

totally awesome.

it's what I want to do the piano sometimes...most of the time.
and yes, i would have that look on my face as well.

uh, sarah? photo session?
